Kathy was born and raised in New Orleans, and at a very young age taught herself to sew.  She began making her own clothes in grammar school, and continued with this passion through adulthood.  Overtime, this passion evolved to a community sewing circle, to a home-based children's clothing store, to a children's clothing store with two retail locations and over 50 representative across 26 states.

Today, the business is no longer in operation, and she is back to pursuing another passion, improving literacy and reading comprehension among adults serving as the Chair of the Reading Department at Delgado Community College in New Orleans.

Considering the outpour of support from Friends for Life in the aftermath of hurricanes Katrina and Rita, she was fortunate to learn of the opportunity to make a material difference:  by donating material to help itscool2care with their many programs in support of Friends for Life. Above are photos of the custom bandana project that has raised hundreds of dollars for Friends For Life.
